Sound of school bell.

A camera pan of 5 kids sitting at their desks looking extremely bored, showing their individual characters through various actions. Basketball player playing with his basketball, Goth listening to loud music, class clown lazing around bothering others and geek reading a book and gets a paper cut

MARIA
Lightly shaking her hand due to paper cut sting
Ouch

Camera carries on panning until BIANCA the schools most popular and self obsessed girl is in the frame. She looks frustrated and wriggles until she leaves her seat.
Various shots of her leaving classroom and going to the toilet. She gets to the toilet heads straight to the sink and runs her fingers through her hair. She then looks in the mirror and sees a black figure of a person dressed in black behind her. She looks back and sees none their. She slams all of the cubicle doors to reassure her that none is there she goes back to the mirror. Washes her face.

Inside the detention room.

MARCUS
Where is BIANCA she’s been in those toilets fro how long!

BOB

Jason carries on walking kicking a ball of paper around

Inside the toilets

BIANCA is washing her face and looks up as she does so she begins to cough and beings to throw up blood whilst seeing figure in the mirror.
BIANCA

She begins to stager out of the bathroom trying to hold on to walls leaving blood marks behind her.

Inside the detention room

BOB is looking at Marcus in a weird way as if he has something to say

BOB

BOB
Be sure not to break a leg or something or bore yourself to death in this shithole

Inside the corridors

BOB runs out of the classroom to find help and realises that no one is their. The corridors are dark and completely empty. MARIA and MARCUS shout out for help and also leave the room.

MARCUS
(In panic)

Bob looks at them shaking his head in disbelief

BOB
There all gone there’s no one here.

MARCUS
Well don’t just stand there, you too tries open the doors.

Marcus rushes to the doors and desperately trying to open them with no success he shouts

MARCUS
Well come on then!

Maria and bob run to the doors and help him to try and open them

MARIA
There are 3 other doors on this building we could try

MARCUS
Ok lets bob lets go try those ones. You stay with her

Marcus and bob run across to the other side of the building and try their hardest to get the doors open.

BOB
This is stupid let’s just break these windows

Marcus runs back to the corridor where he left his basket ball and back to the door where bob is standing. He begins to aim and throws the ball with all his strength at the window. A crack appears

BOB
Oh yes!

Marcuse beings to aim again however this time the shutters of the window begin to come down from the outside of the doors making it impossible to leave

MARCUS
Oh shit, if these carry on were never leaving, run to the other ones quick

Bob and Marcus run to their other possible escapes and see that the doors are not only locked but have the shutters down from the inside. Same for all the windows.

MARIA (in her frustration also shouts)
Be quiet both of you! Look at you. We are stuck I a room with a body and you’re arguing over this crap.

Marcus walks over to Bianca. He picks up her hand and shakes his head releasing a deep sight and dropping her hand back down.

MARCUS
She’s dead

MARIA screams with her hands over her mouth and goes to her seat. Bob stops speaking and just looks at the other two’s reaction, and then putting his head down.

Marcus walks around the room. The room is completely silent until Marcus bangs a desk

MARCUS
Right I want all you too to search this room from head to toe for something to help us get out of here. I will try doing the same or else it looks like were stuck in here.

They all rummage the classroom for some sort of key or helpful object. However everything is empty. They carry on Maria finds a big book (a diary).
She looks around at the two still looking around the room

MARIA

BOB

In disbelieve Maria and bob take the book and read on.

BOB

And he moves away from the book.

MARIA

BOB

Marcus looks and nods at her
MARIA reads the book in her head leaving the other two in suspense. She looks at them

MARIA
Were all going to die? She picks up the book again and reads the end they should do what they need to stay alive however I implore them to do the opposite

BOB

Drama films research:

Drama films have been so successful over the years; they were even some of the first movies ever made, I believe it’s due to their reality aspect as it deals with real life problems and consequences those peoples decisions will cause them later on in life. This is also because some of the most successful films are based on real life, to keep that reality streak going.
I have researched many films and looked at many trailers based upon the drama genre and have found that most drama films are not like typical romances were someone is out of research. This is because as mentioned before this genre is able to adapt man other genres in within in however still keeping its title of a drama film. Also from simply watching some trailers, I have found out that they make you feel some sort of sincere emotion, and this is simply because people can relate which is something which I will keep in mind when we decide our final story to make it interesting but yet realistic.

Target audiences for these kinds of films I believe mostly depends on the main characters age, again it’s a question of how well the audience can interact because that’s what makes a good film.
For example seven pounds. I would say probably targets an audience of middle class working people, or mostly people around the ages of 16- 40. I would say this age because of the themes and contents of the film and I think having this age group would allow everyone to understand and gain some sort of something from.
Another example would be the film milk. I would say the target audience would mostly be either homosexuals as well as heterosexuals around the ages of again 17 and over. Simply because the film milk explores the life of Harvey Milk, who was a gay activist and Politian fighting for the righst of gay men. And this audience would be personaly ideal because it would educate hetrosexual people and give them an insight on the lives of others. And it would be ideal for homosexuals because most films don’t realy ever present being gay as something which is ok, and this would be something which they could relate to without having to feel ashamed. Which I belive makes this a very good film.
But over all I think drams can appeal and be targeted to any audience just depending on the contents and story of the protagonist.

Drama films always tend to have some sort of classical if not slow soothing music, in comparisn to the music of a horrror or comedy film. We also tend to be welcomed to the film with the main protagonist or proagonits who are mostly chracters with no power over their surroundings. We are also greeted by their surrounding a lot of the time this is present in persuit of happines and memoires of a gaisha. I chose these two because they both contain the same contents, such as voiceovers. This is because drama films often make use attached to the character and feel some sor of symapthy towards theme. So the voice overs hep use get to know them even bofore the film starts.

Directors such as Gabriele Muccino are famouse for there interesting style of drama. Alrhough he was not always taken seriously films such as persuit of happiness and seven pounds have earned him a plcae on the map.
Gus Green Van Sant, Jr. Is also famous for his interpretation of Harvey Milks life and is responsisble for other success full films.
However on regareds to actors some actors are chosen to strat in drama films because they fit this certain type of genre, the most omon ones are
Will smith
Beyonce
Nicole kidman
Jenifer aniston
Cameron diaz who has also started animation films and many more.

The legend of Urashima Tarō

The legend of Urashima Tarō (浦島太郎?) is a Japanese legend about a fisherman who rescues a turtle and is rewarded for this with a visit to the Palace of the Dragon God (or Ryūgū-jō) under the sea.
One fine day a young fisherman named Urashima Tarō was fishing when he noticed a small turtle being tormented by some children. Tarō saved it and let it go back to the sea. The day after a huge turtle approached him and told him that the small turtle he had saved was the daughter of the Emperor of the Sea, who wanted to see him to thank him. The turtle magically gave Tarō gills and brought him to the bottom of the sea, to the Palace of the Dragon God (Ryūgū-jō). There he met the Emperor and the small turtle, who was now a lovely princess, Otohime.

Tarō stayed there with her for a few days, then he was caught by the desire to go back to his village and see his aging mother, so he asked her permission to leave. The princess said she was sorry to see him go, but wished him well and gave him a mysterious box which she told him never to open, for whatever reason. Tarō grabbed the box, jumped on the back of the same turtle that had brought him to the Palace, and soon was home.
But everything had changed. His home was gone, his mother had vanished, the people he knew were nowhere to be seen. He asked if anybody knew a man called Urashima Tarō. They answered that they had heard someone of that name had vanished at sea long ago. He discovered that 300 years had passed since the day he had left for the bottom of the sea. Struck by grief, he absent-mindedly opened the box the princess had given him. Out of it came a cloud of white smoke. He suddenly aged, his beard grew long and white, and his back bent. He was now a very old man. And from the sea came the sad, sweet voice of the princess: "I told you not to open that box. In it was your old age ..."
As always with folklore, there are many different versions of this extremely famous story. In one, for example, after he turned into an old man he took the body of a crane, in another he ate a magic pill that gave him the ability to breathe underwater. In another version, he is swept away by a storm before he can rescue the turtle. Also, there is a version in which he dies in the process of aging (his body turns into dust), as no one can live 300 years.

The Twelve Dancing Princesses

The Twelve Dancing Princesses or The Worn-Out Dancing Shoes or The Shoes that were Danced to Pieces is a German fairy tale originally published by the Brothers Grimm
Twelve princesses slept in twelve beds in the same room; every night their doors were securely locked, but in the morning their shoes were found to be worn through as if they had been dancing all night.
The king, perplexed, promised his kingdom and a daughter to any man who could discover the princesses' secret within three days and three nights, but those who failed within the set time limit would be put to death.
An old soldier returned from war came to the king's call after several princes had failed in the endeavour to discover the princesses' secret. Whilst traveling through a wood he came upon an old woman, who gave him an invisibility cloak and told him not to eat or drink anything given to him by one of the princesses who would come to him in the evening, and to pretend to be fast asleep after the princess left.
The soldier was well received at the palace just as the others had been and indeed, in the evening, the eldest princess came to his chamber and offered him a cup of wine. The soldier, remembering the old woman's advice, threw it away secretly and began to snore very loudly as if asleep.
The princesses, sure that the soldier was asleep, dressed themselves in fine clothes and escaped from their room by a trap door in the floor. The soldier, seeing this, donned his invisibility cloak and followed them down. He trod on the gown of the youngest princess, whose cry to her sisters that all was not right was rebuffed by the eldest. The passageway led them to three groves of trees; the first having leaves of silver, the second of gold, and the third of diamonds. The soldier, wishing for a token, broke off a twig as evidence. They walked on until they came upon a great lake. Twelve boats with twelve princes in them were waiting. Each princess went into one, and the soldier stepped into the same boat as the youngest. The young prince in the boat rowed slowly, unaware that the soldier was causing the boat to be heavy. The youngest princess complained that the prince was not rowing fast enough, not knowing the soldier was in the boat. On the other side of the lake was a castle, into which all the princesses went and danced the night away.
The princesses danced until their shoes were worn through and they were obliged to leave. This strange adventure went on the second and third nights, and everything happened just as before, except that on the third night the soldier carried away a golden cup as a token of where he had been. When it came time for him to declare the princesses' secret, he went before the king with the three branches and the golden cup, and told the king all he had seen. The princesses saw there was no use to deny the truth, and confessed. The soldier chose the eldest princess as his bride for he was not a very young man, and was made the king's heir.

fairy tale adaptation/brief story line of film

Fairy tale adaptation:

To gain inspiration for a film I have read and researched many different fairy tales from around the world. Many have taken my fancy and have had good themes to build upon. In the end I decided to base my film on the themes present in the true bride, also know as the true sweetheart, which is a German fairy tales collected by the brothers Grimm as a tale in 1986.

The true bride: plot

The story is about a girl living wit her stepmother who constantly commands her to fulfil impossible tasks for example emptying out a whole pond with a spoon in one night. However all is not bad as every time she is asks to do these kinds of things she meets an old magical woman who does them for her while the young girl sleeps and wakes up in the morning with her chore completed, with the old woman nowhere to be seen.
One day the young girl’s stepmother ordered her to build a castle on a rocky valley promising to inspect every inch of it when complete.
As usual the old woman had her sleep in the shade and removed all the rocks from the valley and built the castle on the smooth ground.
When the stepmother came to inspect it a door fell on her killing her, and leaving the castle to the young girl.
The girl lived in the castle alone. It was filled with riches, and stories of her beauty and wealth spread. Many wooers came to her trying to marry her At last; a king's son won her heart. He went to get his father's consent. She kissed him, told him not to let anyone else kiss him on that cheek, and sat under a lime tree to await him. On the fourth day without his return, she packed up three dresses, embroidered with suns, moons, and stars, and set out to seek him. She was unable to find him, whoever she asked, and finally took a job as a cowherd and buried her jewels and dresses under a rock. She made a pet of a little calf and sang to it of her being abandoned. After a few years she heard that a kings daughter was to marry and that that the groom was her prince. She sang to her calf as the prince rode by, and he looked at her, but he did not remember her. When three days' festivities were held to celebrate the marriage, she dressed herself in her gown with suns and went to the first ball. She so enchanted the prince that he forgot his new bride. The second night, she wore the gown with moons and enchanted him again; she had to promise to come the third night to get away. The third night, she wore the gown with stars, and when she kissed him, he remembered her. They went back to her castle and married there.

Adaptation

From the different themes I was able to collect from the fairytale I researched I have come up with my own adaptation of the fairytale.

Present themes:

Love
Lonelyness
Hate
Hope
Jealousy
Decipt

My adaptation

My story is based on the life a girl called jade I have chosen this name because it is a rare
But yet also precious jewel. The theme of loneliness starts in her life as she lives in a broken family due to her father leaving. His departure was triggered by his unfaithfulness’ and violent behavior towards her mother.
Ever since his departure Maxine is not the same and begins to take drugs and abuse jade, by making her do everything and sometimes beating her with any valid reasons.
Jade has a friend which she can confide in, but however that’s all she can do.
Although living under these conditions at the age of 16 she realizes that her mother needs her regardless and sticks around to look after her, however sadly on jades 22nd birthday her mother dies of drug abuse. This becomes pain for her as well as a sense of relief. She now lives alone in her mother’s house.
As present in many love films she eventually meets a who moves in near her.
After about two years of knowing each other they plan to get married. (This is where the film begins, however her past will be shown through flashbacks.)
After getting married right after the ceremony the groom sadly gets run over causing him to become hospitalized.
Due to the accident the groom doesn’t remember anyone or anything (amnesia)
Not even his wife. The groom however was hospitalized for or so long that jade was forced to try and forget as she was made to believe that he was most likely to die.
Not remembering anything her groom starts over and is planning to go and marry someone else and start a family. When jade hears of his recovering she’s more than ecstatic and is on a quest to try win back her husband by making him remember her or making him fall in love with her again.

Fairy tale research:

Rumpelstiltskin

is a character in a fairy tale of the same name that originated in Germany (where he is known as Rumpelstilzchen). The tale was collected by the Brothers Grimm, who first published it in the 1812 edition of Children's and Household Tales.

Plot synopsis
In order to make himself appear more important, a miller/commoner lied to the king that his daughter could spin straw into gold. The king called for the girl, shut her in a tower room with straw and a spinning wheel, and demanded that she spin the straw into gold by morning, for three nights, or be executed. She had given up all hope, when a dwarfish creature appeared in the room and spun straw into gold for her in return for her necklace; then again the following night for her ring. On the third night, when she had nothing with which to reward him, the strange creature spun straw into gold for a promise that the girl's first-born child would become his.
The king was so impressed that he married the miller's daughter, but when their first child was born, the dwarf returned to claim his payment: "Now give me what you promised". The queen was frightened and offered him all the wealth she had if she could keep the child. The dwarf refused but finally agreed to give up his claim to the child if the queen could guess his name in three days. At first she failed, but before the final night, her messenger discovered the dwarf's remote mountain cottage and, unseen, overhears the dwarf hopping about his fire and singing. While there are many variations in this song, the 1886 translation by Lucy Crane reads:
"To-day do I bake, to-morrow I brew,
The day after that the queen's child comes in;
And oh! I am glad that nobody knew
That the name I am called is Rumpelstiltskin!"[1]
When the dwarf came to the queen on the third day and she revealed his name, Rumpelstiltskin lost his bargain. In the 1812 edition of the Brothers Grimm tales, Rumpelstiltskin then "ran away angrily, and never came back". The ending was revised in a final 1857 edition to a more gruesome version where Rumpelstiltskin "in his rage drove his right foot so far into the ground that it sank in up to his waist; then in a passion he seized the left foot with both hands and tore himself in two." Other versions have Rumpelstiltskin driving his right foot so far into the ground that he creates a chasm and falls into it, never to be seen again. In the oral version originally collected by the brothers Grimm, Rumpelstiltskin flies out of the window on a cooking ladle (Heidi Anne Heiner).
The name is originally from Germany and literally means"little rattle stilt".
